OUR CHURCH

A family rooted in Christ

We are a multicultural evangelical church in Brisbane, united by the gospel and committed to growing together in faith, hope and love.

WELCOME TO TRINITY

Life together, centred on Jesus

We are a multicultural evangelical church in Brisbane, united by the gospel and committed to growing together in faith, hope and love.

We believe the local church should be a place of truth and grace: grounded in Scripture, alive in worship, generous in service and open to every person seeking God.

“Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.”

HEBREWS 10:24
OUR STORY

Faithful through every season

Nearly three decades of prayer, fellowship and faithfulness — from three believers gathered in a home to a church that continues to grow today.

OUR STORY

Our journey of grace

Trinity Evangelical Church Brisbane began around 1995, when three Christians living in Brisbane came together as a family to pray and fellowship. What started as a simple gathering in a home, centred on prayer and Christian fellowship, became the foundation of the church we know today.

From a fellowship to a church

As the fellowship grew from three people to seven and then continued to increase, it became formally established in 2000 under the name Trinity Evangelical Fellowship, receiving legal recognition from the government as an incorporated fellowship.

By 2010, the congregation had grown significantly, reaching the size and maturity required to be established as a church. The fellowship was therefore renamed Trinity Evangelical Church Brisbane and formally established as a church. At the time, the congregation had brought together Christians from different countries, particularly Ethiopia, Djibouti and Kenya. Others came to faith in Jesus Christ here in Brisbane and were baptised through the ministry of the church.

Even in its early years, the fellowship had a vision that extended beyond its local congregation. In 1996, while still operating as a fellowship, it organised an Australia-wide Christian conference and invited Evangelist Gebru Woldu as a guest minister. Nearly seventy Christians from across Australia attended what became a remarkable time of fellowship, teaching and spiritual encouragement.

A ministry beyond our walls

Since its establishment, Trinity Evangelical Church Brisbane has remained committed to proclaiming the Gospel throughout the city in various ways. Through its ministry, many people have come to faith in Jesus Christ and been baptised. The church has also nurtured young people as they have grown in faith, helping them develop spiritually and preparing them to make their own commitment to Christ through baptism.

The church has also built strong relationships with Ethiopian churches throughout Australia, contributing to cooperation, Christian unity and the shared work of the Gospel.

The church’s ministry has extended well beyond its own congregation. For more than five consecutive years, the church provided monthly financial support to the Tsidik Tsehay Gospel Ministry, actively participating in its Gospel mission. For approximately three years, the church also provided regular monthly financial support to an organisation caring for children, demonstrating its commitment to compassion and charitable service.

Throughout its history, the church has continued to support evangelists and Gospel ministries financially. It has also responded compassionately to people affected by natural disasters, providing financial assistance to those in need.

Here in Brisbane, members of the church have taken the Gospel into public places, sharing the message of Jesus Christ and distributing Gospel literature as part of the church’s commitment to evangelism and outreach.

Welcoming people with love

One of the defining characteristics of Trinity Evangelical Church Brisbane has been its commitment to welcoming people with love.

Over the years, Christians arriving in Brisbane from different countries have found a spiritual home within the church. The congregation has welcomed and supported newcomers, helping them establish themselves, build relationships and become part of a caring Christian community.

This act of hospitality, fellowship and practical support continues to be an important part of the life of the church today.

“Above all, Trinity Evangelical Church Brisbane exists to fulfil its calling to worship and glorify God.”

OUR CALLING

Worship, discipleship and the next generation

Through consistent fellowship and worship, the church continues to pursue the purpose for which God has called it. Members are strengthened and built up through the Word of God, regular Bible teaching, weekly fellowship, intercessory prayer and ongoing prayer gatherings.

The church also participates in a variety of spiritual, charitable and community activities, seeking to demonstrate the love of Christ both within the congregation and throughout the wider community.

A particularly important part of the church’s ministry is its commitment to children and the next generation. The church seeks to nurture its children through the Word of God, worship and spiritual formation, helping them grow in their relationship with God and equipping them to become a source of healing and blessing to the land.

This commitment reflects the church’s vision not only to serve the present generation, but also to raise a generation that knows God, honours Him and positively influences the world around them.

Trinity today

For nearly three decades, Trinity Evangelical Church Brisbane has sought to be a blessing to Australia as part of the Body of Christ and an expression of the Kingdom of God. The church continues to raise a generation that honours God and His Kingdom while faithfully praying and interceding for Australia, its people and its leaders. Through prayer and spiritual service, the church seeks to stand faithfully for God’s purposes in the land.

Today, Trinity Evangelical Church Brisbane has grown significantly from its humble beginnings as a prayer gathering of three believers. The church now enjoys fellowship and partnership with the wider Baptist church community in Australia, has its own place of worship, is blessed with dedicated and mature ministry leaders, and continues to stand on a strong foundation of faith, fellowship and unity.

The story of Trinity Evangelical Church Brisbane is ultimately a testimony to God’s faithfulness across generations.

OUR MISSION

Know Christ. Grow together. Make Him known.

Making devoted disciples, developing Christlike character and equipping the next generation to bless the land.

OUR MISSION

Our Mission

The mission of Trinity Evangelical Church Brisbane is to:

  • Make devoted disciples of Jesus Christ who deny themselves, take up their cross daily, and faithfully follow Him.
  • Develop Christlike believers whose minds are continually renewed and whose lives increasingly reflect the character of Christ.
  • Equip the next generation to grow in faith, fulfil God’s purpose for their lives, and become a source of healing and blessing to the land.
  • Demonstrate and proclaim the love of Christ in a world of darkness—expressing His love through both our actions and our words, and faithfully sharing the Gospel.
  • Build a genuine Christian community founded on brotherly and sisterly love, where believers grow together in fellowship, unity and mutual care.

Our Core Values

Our ministry and life together are shaped by four foundational values:

Love & Support

We love one another, care for one another and support each other as members of the family of Christ.

Growing in Christ

We continually seek to grow in our knowledge of Christ, becoming mature in faith and increasingly reflecting His character.

Faith Expressed Through Good Works

We believe that our faith should be visible in the way we live—through compassion, generosity, service and good works that bless others.

Being Light in the Darkness

We are called to reflect the light of Christ in our families, communities and the wider world through both our words and the way we live.

How We Fulfil Our Mission

To fulfil this mission, we seek to faithfully use the gifts and grace that God has given to His Church.

We depend upon the guidance and empowering presence of the Holy Spirit, the authority of the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the authority and truth of the Word of God as the foundation for how we live and how we lead the life and ministry of our church.

“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.”

2 PETER 1:3

We believe that Christ has entrusted His Church with a divine calling and has also given His Church the authority, power and spiritual resources necessary to faithfully fulfil that calling.

Therefore, as a church, we seek to live under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, remain grounded in God’s Word, exercise the gifts He has entrusted to us, and faithfully carry out the mission Christ has given His Church.

OUR VISION

A blessing to the land

A Christ-centred church rooted in loving God and loving people, advancing the Gospel and equipping the next generation.

OUR VISION

The future we are building

“To be a Christ-centred church rooted in loving God and loving people, advancing the Gospel and equipping the next generation to become a source of healing and blessing to the land.”

OUR VISION
FROM OUR PASTOR

There is a place for you here

Whatever your story, background or season, you are welcome. Our prayer is that you encounter Jesus, find genuine community and discover God’s purpose for you.

FROM OUR PASTOR

A word from our Pastor

Pastor of Trinity Evangelical Church Brisbane

Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

It is my joy to welcome you to the Trinity Evangelical Church Brisbane, located in Brisbane, Australia.

For the past thirty years, Trinity Evangelical Church Brisbane has faithfully served God and His people, both here in Brisbane and through its contribution to the work of the Gospel beyond our city.

Throughout these years, our church has sought to be a blessing to many by worshipping God, proclaiming the Gospel, welcoming newcomers and helping them establish themselves in their new community, teaching the Word of God, maintaining a life of prayer and fellowship, and nurturing the next generation, our children and young people in the knowledge and ways of God.

The Scripture declares:

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.”

1 PETER 2:9

This Scripture expresses something central to who we are as a church.

We believe that God has placed us in this land with a calling and a purpose: to proclaim His mighty works, to live as His royal priesthood and holy people, and to reflect the character of Christ in the world around us.

Through faith, service, sacrifice and love, our desire is to be a church that brings blessing to this land, a community of believers whose lives increasingly reflect Jesus Christ and bring glory to God.

To everyone reading this message, I warmly invite you to come and worship with us, and serve God alongside us.

Whether you are looking for a church family, seeking to grow in your relationship with God, or simply wanting to learn more about Jesus Christ and our faith, you are welcome among us.
